Stitch Fix #1 Review – April 29

Stitch Fix is:

1. $20/Fix (or month if you sign up for monthly) – if you buy anything the $20 is a credit towards that item.

2. A shipment of 5 fashion items – My first box was 2 tops, 2 bottoms, 1 pair of earrings.

3. 25% off all items if you buy all five items.

4. Customized based on a survey you fill out, you have a personal stylist that tries to match your likes and dislikes to garments in their collection.

5. By invite only – click here and sign up! I’ll get a $25 credit if you do!

6. Confusing? Any other questions can be answered here.

7. AWESOME! My friend Katie Nall told me about it, I signed up, and had to wait almost 2 months for my first box, but I was SO excited I could hardly stand it!

My box came in looking all pretty and stuff! I literally stood and waited for the mailman to come into the leasing office because I couldn’t wait to open it!

For my first fix, the price point was slightly too high for my taste, so I requested they put more affordable tops in my next box.

Amour Vert's Catriece Sleeveless Crossover Knit Top in white

1. Amour Vert’s Catriece Sleeveless Crossover Knit Top in white – $88

I really liked the cut and shape of this shirt, and I never would have picked it for myself which made it kind of fun, but at $88, that was just too much to spend on a white tee in my opinion.

Here were the style options they offered up for this shirt.

Here were the style options they offered up for this shirt. Love the one with the blazer – it’d make this shirt work appropriate!

These earrings were a really nice shape and I loved the hammered gold, but I would much rather have paid $18, rather than $38.

2. Marjorie Baear’s Triangular Spear Danglers – $38.These earrings were a really nice shape and I loved the hammered matte gold, but I would much rather have paid $18 than $38. I’m not one to spend a lot on jewelry that isn’t handmade.

3. Kensie Jeans’ Bay Polka Dot Cropped Skinny Jeans – $88

I kinda liked these, kinda felt they were too junior. Not to mention I bought some polka dot pants a week ago (see pic above), but the fit, shape, style was spot on. I just didn't like the color / print!

Fraiche by J Sansome Striped Maxi Skirt - $88

4. Fraiche by J’s Sansome Striped Maxi Skirt – $88

Notice that the 2nd style option is the shirt I'm wearing in the picture above! I actually really liked this skirt a lot, but the drawstring was bulky and the hips had to be covered as the skirt hugged me strangely. I will now actually consider buying a maxi skirt and I never would have had they not shipped me this!

5. Aryn K Sonia Silk Colorblock Blouse - $88

5. Aryn K’s Sonia Silk Colorblock Blouse – $88

This shirt was non-negotiable! I loved everything about it! The colors were so fun and unique, the sheer fabric was awesome, and the shape / style very versatile, I could easily wear with a blazer for work or skinny jeans / black dress shorts and heels for a night out! Definitely a must for my wardrobe!

The style options were kind of uninspired for this look! I thought of better ones on my own!

So of my first five items in my fix, I only kept item #5, but that was mainly because of the prices. I seriously liked all of it except for the polka dot denim! This was so much fun – I cannot wait until my next fix! I requested beachy items for my upcoming Memorial Day family trip! Check out Stitch Fix and sign up! It was so much fun!

Which items did you like most? Did you agree with my decisions?

Emma Stone Lovin’

In honor of Spider-Man coming out the other week, I thought I’d do a post about my favorite red carpet fashion maven, Ms. Emma Stone. I love her for more reasons than one. She’s a great actress, she’s incredibly stylish and poised, and she is, best of all, absolutely hilarious. She’s almost a year younger than me but is definitely far more mature! Enough of that, let’s get to the fun stuff!

Favorite Emma Stone movies (all of which are really, really good and really, really funny): Crazy Stupid Love, Friends with Benefits, The Help, Easy A, Zomebieland, Superbad, and Housebunny

Favorite Emma Stone looks:

Emma Stone in Martin Grant at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. I love the volume and angles of this outfit and the pink lips.

Emma Stone (in Bottega Veneta) at the Amazing Spider-Man premiere in Rome. Such an elegant and unique evening gown. I love the peplum and the high neckline.

Emma Stone (in Chanel) at the Los Angeles premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man. I absolutely love the contrasting colors and elaborate details in this gown.

Emma Stone (in Gucci) at the premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man in Paris. She never ceases to surprise. Going for the goth glam look at this premiere.

Emma Stone (in Elie Saab) at the London premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man. This is absolutely one of my top looks for her. It’s so modern and glamorous and age-appropriate.

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli – Oscars 2012. She is a total knockout in red. I love the oversize bow, cat eyes, and smooth hair.

Emma Stone at the Met Gala wearing Lanvin. I love this gown because it is playful and flirty. Amazingly, it has 3,000 plastic flowers sewn to it!

What is NOT to love about this Lanvin look she wore to the Oscars this year? I love the peek of red down the sides, the detail on the shoulder, and the rock and roll belt. Such an age appropriate and glamorous look!

This is a FANTASTIC menswear look by Gucci. I LOVE the emerald green against her hair color and the smoky eye.

Another fabulous emerald look from Emma, this time she wears Dolce and Gabbana. I LOVE the lace, and pairing the red lips/nails and leopard pumps with the gown takes it to the next level.

This is a love or hate look and I tend to LOVE this Giambattista Valli look. The color combo and unique waistline is SO quirky and cute. She pairs it with simple nude pumps, any other color would have been too much!

Emma Stone in Tom Ford at the Crazy, Stupid, Love premiere. I absolutely love this dress, again for the unique details. The volume at the waistline and the laser cut lace with the nude background is so glam! I also love her soft hair and red lips.

Emma Stone in a silver Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière gown with a gilded chain-link collar. This look is SO sultry and sexy and such a change with the blond hair.

This is such a simple and figure-flattering gown by Calvin Klein. Love the clutch and the updo and the color of the dress.

This is such a unique Bottega Venetta gown. She clearly loves lace and layered colors. The fringe at the bottom is a playful and fun detail that makes it appropriate for the event. Note the fun clutch and shoes too!

These are just  a FEW of her best looks, but I love almost everything she wears. What are your favorites? I love the 2 menswear inspired looks, the D&G lace look, and the Calvin Klein coral number.
